Online therapy for women in Florida + Indiana
There is a difference between coping with your life and actually being in it.
You may be capable, self-aware, and used to handling a lot.
But overthinking, overfunctioning, and putting everyone else first can slowly pull you away from your own needs, relationships, and sense of self.
Therapy can help you understand the patterns that keep you in survival mode and build a different relationship with yourself.
Maybe nothing is falling apart. You’re just tired of living this way.
The things that helped you cope can eventually become the things keeping you stuck.
Overthinking can look like being prepared.
People-pleasing can look like being thoughtful.
Hyper-independence can look like competence.
Ignoring your own needs can look like being easygoing.
Staying busy can make it easier not to notice how exhausted or disconnected you feel.
These patterns usually make sense when we understand where they came from.
They may have helped you stay connected, avoid conflict, feel in control, or get through experiences that once felt overwhelming.
But what was adaptive then may not be what you need now.
Maybe you want to stop organizing your life around anxiety, guilt, other people’s reactions, and the pressure to get everything right.
What keeps getting in the way?
-
You replay conversations, anticipate problems, second-guess decisions, and search for certainty that never quite arrives.
Overthinking + Self Doubt
-
You know your limits until someone needs something from you. Then guilt, responsibility, or fear of disappointing them takes over.
People-Pleasing + Boundaries
-
You have been functioning at capacity for so long that exhaustion has started to feel normal.
Burnout + Exhaustion
-
Sometimes insight does not reach the places where an experience has become stuck.
EMDR therapy
I’m Patricia
I’m a psychotherapist who works with women who are thoughtful, capable, and often much harder on themselves than anyone around them realizes.
Many of the women I work with already have insight. They have read the books, listened to the podcasts, thought about their childhoods, analyzed their relationships, and tried to understand why they do what they do.
And sometimes they still find themselves having the same reaction, repeating the same relationship dynamic, questioning the same decision, or abandoning what they need in order to keep everything around them steady.
That is where our work can go deeper.
I use talk therapy, EMDR, and body-based approaches to help you understand not only what you think, but what your nervous system has learned to expect, protect against, and hold onto.
We are not trying to create a more optimized version of you.
We are making room for you to know yourself more clearly, trust yourself more deeply, and participate in your own life differently.
What it’s like to work together
Therapy with me is conversational, curious, and grounded.
Some days we may talk through what is happening in your relationships or the patterns you are beginning to notice.
Sometimes we will slow things down and pay attention to what your body is communicating before your mind has figured it out.
Sometimes we may use EMDR when something continues to feel emotionally charged despite how well you understand it intellectually.
We will pay attention to what you are feeling, what your mind is doing, what your body is carrying, and how all of it shows up in the way you relate to other people and yourself.
Insight matters.
But understanding why you do something and feeling free to respond differently are not always the same thing.
The goal is not a perfectly regulated life.
Life will still be complicated. People will still disappoint you.
You will still have uncomfortable conversations, uncertainty, stress, and days when you do not know exactly what you are doing.
The difference is that those experiences no longer have to pull you so far away from yourself.
You might start to notice that:
You know what you want before automatically considering what everyone else wants.
You can disappoint someone without immediately assuming you have done something wrong.
You recognize exhaustion before your body forces you to stop.
You trust yourself enough to tolerate not knowing how everyone else feels about your choices.
And slowly, there is more room in your life for something other than managing it.

There is no predetermined timeline.
Some people come to therapy to work through a particular period or pattern. Others want space for deeper, longer-term work.
We will talk openly about how the work is progressing rather than keeping therapy going simply because it has become part of your routine.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. Consistency gives us enough space to build momentum and understand what is happening beyond the immediate problem that brought you in.
As the work progresses, we can decide together whether a different frequency makes sense.
-
At this time, I’m only offering virtual sessions to clients throughout Florida and Indiana.
Meeting virtually allows you to join from a space where you feel comfortable; your couch, a quiet corner, even your parked car between commitments.
It removes travel time, makes scheduling easier, and gives you more freedom to fit therapy into your real life.
